According to this month's special speaker, professional futurist and entrepreneur Jeffrey Fry, there are some basic filters that you can use to discern opportunities and trends for society. These filters are:

1) What opportunities will take advantage of free, networked, communications?

2) What opportunities involve education of the customer to make better choices?

3) What opportunities involve disintermediation of an industry?

4) What opportunities involves moving “decisions” away from the corporate and into the swarm?

5) What opportunities move from a closed system to an open one?

6) What opportunities work better when the customer is in charge?

7) What opportunities take advantage of the “long tail?”

8) What opportunities foster a greater sense of trust first, then cash?

9) What opportunities ignore efficiencies of production and maximize opportunity creation (mass customization)?

10) What opportunities give freedom and power (love)?

Using these filters, Jeffrey Fry comes up with ten interesting and often unseen trends for our society in the coming years. They range across education, economics, health, and life styles. Come and join us this coming Tuesday, April 15th, to hear Jeffry explain is predictions in person.

Gathering will start at 6pm, with the presentation starting around 7pm. This is a dinner meeting, with a charge of $20 for members, and $25 for non-members to cover the cost of the dinner and group expenses.
