What Are You Optimistic About?  (We need your input on this)

The Central Texas World Future Society was originally formed in the period shortly after the Sept 11th attacks as an effort to counteract the feelings of despair and generate some optimism about our future.   So what generates optimism about the future for you now?   This is a chance for all of you who dream about being an influential, innovative and sought after speaker to have a little practice in a safe friendly environment.  We are asking for volunteers to give short little 6 minute talks about what aspect of our future generates optimism for you.  Is it some aspect of technology, science, social change, better education, better understanding of our minds, improved diets, plentiful fat-free junk food, or the prospects of getting really cool Google Glasses to record the rest of your life?   This is a format that is often used for meetings by the NY City Futurist group, and it works very well when enough people participate.

We have room for up to 10 speakers.  All I ask is that you RSVP me at mike.ignatowski@gmail.com stating your intent to give a 6 minute talk, and let me know if you think you’ll want a projector.  You don’t even need to have a title or topic picked out yet.  This is a great chance to share your ideas and practice public speaking (if you’re an introvert), or to enjoy listening to yourself talk (if you’re an extrovert).   Time will be set aside for a lively discussion and debate following the presentations.

What are you optimistic about?

Best regards,

Central Texas Chapter of the World Future Society
