An interactive discussion of how we can apply our knowledge of the future to the solution of the challenges facing our region and our country. This month we invite the members of the Central Texas World Future Society to share some of their insights and priorities about the future. As our guest we have also invited Tracey Vickery, an Educational Strategist to present a new strategy she is developing to create an alternative path for improving education. She has spent 18 years searching for and identifying educational programs that work and is preparing to apply that knowledge by taking a leadership role to change the future of education.

About Our Speaker

Tracey Vickery is a longtime Austinite, a University of Texas graduate, and an advocate for local non-profit and educational ventures. She was co-founder of Summer Wonders (award-winning gifted enrichment camp), a CASA, and a founding board member of The Girls' School of Austin where she was also a teacher.  She is an invited speaker at local conferences and events, and teaches Abacus Mental Math. Through her consulting company, edTelligence, she helps students identify and pursue passions, develop digital portfolios, start small businesses, and navigate the college admissions process.  She will open the IQuest Global Enrichment Center in September.  The center will offer students the opportunity to investigate and acquire the skills needed to find success in a knowledge-based economy.  She is married and has two daughters, a 10th grader who attends an International Baccalaureate school in Austria, and a college sophomore who attends university just outside of London, England.

As the CTXWFS celebrates its tenth year, we want to refresh our ideas and review our organizational mission to find the best way for all of our members to make a positive impact on the future.
