Design Thinking: Applying AI to Disaster Relief

  • 27 Sep 2017
  • 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
  • Capital Factory, 701 Brazos St Unit 1600 Austin, TX 78701 United States

Summer is over and CTXWFS is announcing the first meeting of the fall! Please note that we will NOT be meeting at the previous location Café Express, but in the Wall-E room at the Capital Factory. This will likely be our venue for future meetings as well.

While our meetings are free, we ask that you make a contribution to the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund established by Mayor Sylvester Turner and County Judge Ed Emmett. Donations will also be accepted in the form of cash or check at the door. For more information regarding the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund, go to: https://ghcf.org/hurricane-relief/

Complex problems and unclear goals are an all too common reality. Both issues can shroud any endeavor in ambiguity, and lead to overlooking the route of the issue at hand. Join Interaction Designer Adam Zeiner at the Capital Factory to demystify the process of identifying the right problem(s) to solve. Adam will lead a hands-on introduction to Design Thinking and how it can be applied to tackling these large problems with unclear goals. Participants can expect an introduction to the foundational components of design thinking while getting out of their comfort zones and interacting with one another in a guided format.
