EFF Austin is hosting their monthly meeting on Monday June 12th at the Capital Factory.

Is Privacy Dead? Generation Z and the Taming of the Digital Wild West is presented by futurist Anne Boysen

Are you willing to trade digital privacy and security for convenience? Do you claim "mineral rights" to your digital turf or are you comfortable letting government or private companies harvest your digital footprints and sell them to the highest bidder? Do you believe that, not knowing anything different, your children and grandchildren will lead frictionless lives under a digital Leviathan, or is the need to keep some of your thoughts and activities private innate?

Generation Z is the first truly digitally native generation. While it is still too early to predict what the majority consensus might be, we are starting to see some early signs that this generation might ask some critical questions around the real-estate value and ownership of their digital footprints.

After receiving her masters in Strategic Foresight 15 years ago Anne Boysen spent most of her career studying generational change. She is currently pursuing her second graduate degree in Business Analytics and uses a combination of Strategic Foresight, Data Analytics and Social Science to understand the emerging zeitgeist of the post-millennial generation. Anne has consulted national and global organizations and has held several presentations on generational shifts in the USA and Europe. Her website Afterthemillennials.com is a major destination for post-millennial topics.
